Includes: Archaeological Zone of Tingambato, National Park (Uruapan), and Tzararacua Waterfall
An interesting tour of the “transition zone” – that between the cold and the warm. Enjoy the vibrant plant life of the region, known as the Avocado Capital of the World.
The archaeological zone of Tingambato will be another highlight of your visit. The name comes from the ancient nomenclature, “Tinganio,” which means “warm place” in the indigenous tongue. This extensive site includes a pyramid, a tomb, and a sunken ball field, among other features, all of which are described on plaques around the site.
Next is the National Park (Uruapan) – the main attraction in Uruapan. The walking path follows the sinuous Cupatitzio River, surrounded by vigorous and exuberant flora.
Final stop: Tzararacua Waterfall – the enduring inspiration for countless painters.
